Nimbus Aerospace completes prototype test flights in Oregon
Seattle-based Nimbus Aerospace has conducted two test flights of its quarter-scale hybrid-electric aircraft prototype at an Oregon UAS range, achieving flight times of nearly four and six minutes. The NX1 prototype demonstrated aerodynamic stability and manufacturing capabilities. Nimbus aims to develop a passenger plane with 1,500-mile range and half the fuel consumption of traditional aircraft, with deliveries targeted for the end of 2030. Certification with the FAA is underway.
