Shield AI wins $150M Navy deal for autonomous jet development
Shield AI has landed $150 million from the U.S. Navy to accelerate work on its AI-driven X-BAT fighter jet, with the funds supporting design enhancements and export features. The company will match the Navy's investment, bringing the total new backing to $300 million. The deal also cements Shield AI’s expansion near Seattle, where it's planning a major 420,000-square-foot facility and expects to employ 4,000 people by the early 2030s.
