32 GB RAM now most common on Steam
According to Valve's latest Steam Hardware Survey, 32 GB of RAM has edged past 16 GB to become the most common memory size among surveyed PC gamers. 32 GB reached 42.2%, while 16 GB dropped to 37.8%. That’s a nearly 5-point swing in just one month. Some big new games now ask for 32 GB in their recommended specs. Still, Steam’s survey is voluntary, and a large jump in Chinese users this month may have skewed results.
- 32 GB RAM adoption hit 42.2% among surveyed Steam users
- 16 GB fell to 37.8%, reversing last month's order
- Survey only tracks total capacity, not memory speed or type
- Recent games increasingly list 32 GB as 'recommended'
- Sampling shift, especially among Chinese users, could affect results
