Amazon removes Alexa control of Echo aux input
Amazon has quietly dropped Alexa’s ability to control audio from a device plugged into an Echo speaker’s aux port. That means you can no longer use voice commands to play or pause music coming from an external source, though the physical connection and control in the Alexa app still work. Amazon says very few people used this feature but gave no reason for the change.
- Alexa voice commands won't control aux input playback
- Physical aux connection and Alexa app control remain
- Affects select Echo models with 3.5mm input
- Amazon didn’t say why the feature was removed
