iFixit finds modest repair gains in Apple Watch Series 12
iFixit's teardown of Apple's Watch Series 12 shows the battery is a bit easier to remove, thanks to new adhesive and a pull tab. But you still have to pry off a tightly glued display—which is risky and hard to do—so most repairs are still difficult. In the end, the Series 12 received a 4 out of 10 repairability score, one point higher than an earlier base model. The Ultra 4 Watch remains at 4 out of 10, with no meaningful changes.
- Series 12 adds battery pull tab and new adhesive
- Repair still blocked by glued, fragile display
- Ultra 4 sees no real change from prior model
- Series 12 repairability score up to 4/10
- Google's Pixel Watch scored a 9/10 by comparison
