Apple now highlights iOS 27.0.1 for iPhone users on iOS 26
Apple is now encouraging iPhone users still running iOS 26 to update directly to iOS 27.0.1. Until now, iOS 26.7 was the default update shown in settings, with iOS 27.0.1 less visible. That changed after the latest minor release, which addresses early issues. You'll still be able to stay on the old version if you want, but iOS 27.0.1 is now front and center.
- iOS 27.0.1 is now the primary recommended update
- iOS 26.7.1 moved to 'Also Available' section
- iOS 27.0.1 fixes issues found in initial iOS 27 launch
- Apple not forcing users to update yet
