Final Fantasy 7 Revelation gets limited physical release
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be released in a physical format, but the full game isn’t on the disc or card. Director Naoki Hamaguchi said he had to advocate internally at Square Enix to get any boxed version at all. If you buy the PS5 or Xbox disc, it works as a key to start the download. The Switch 2 version includes a similar game-key card. Full launch is set for April 8, 2027.
- Physical edition contains only part of the game
- Director fought for any boxed release at all
- PS5/Xbox disc triggers large download
- Switch 2 version uses a downloadable key card
