HelixSR brings NVIDIA DLSS upscaling to Steam Deck
A new mod called HelixSR lets Steam Deck and other AMD handhelds use NVIDIA's DLSS 3.7 upscaling, a feature previously unavailable on non-NVIDIA hardware. Early tests suggest HelixSR runs faster than AMD's official FSR 4 upscaler, delivering better performance and, in some cases, rival image quality—even on older GPUs. The mod works as a drop-in replacement for FSR 3.1 in Direct3D 12 games, no special drivers needed.
- HelixSR runs DLSS 3.7 on AMD handhelds
- Can outperform FSR 4 in speed and sometimes image quality
- Works with Direct3D 12 games, not Vulkan
- No NVIDIA or AMD special drivers required
- Mod updated five times since launch
