Rivian sets sales record with strong R2 launch
Rivian delivered 19,248 electric vehicles in its third quarter, beating its own records by a wide margin and marking a 45% lift from last year. The new, lower-priced R2 SUV drove much of this jump—its first full quarter on the market. Rivian now expects 2026 annual deliveries between 65,000 and 70,000. These Q3 numbers signal momentum at a time when most EV makers are seeing demand fall.
- 19,248 vehicles delivered in Q3, up 45% year-over-year
- First full quarter of R2 sales drove growth
- Rivian aims for 65,000–70,000 annual deliveries by 2026
- R2 starts under $60,000; cheaper trims planned
- Most other EV makers saw sales drop this period
