Spotifast launches as lightweight Spotify desktop client
Spotifast, a new open-source Spotify desktop app written in Rust, promises much lower memory usage than the official Electron-based Spotify client. Spotifast claims it runs on just 100–250 MB of RAM, compared to the official app's 600 MB–1 GB. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, it's only for Spotify Premium users and supports features like playlist browsing, custom themes, and classic music visualizers.
