DheyaTech raises $5.1M to develop Indian gas turbine engines

Aerospace startup DheyaTech just secured ₹43 crore ($5.1M) from Avaana Capital and others to expand its homegrown gas turbine engine production. It'll use the money to ramp up manufacturing, set up a dedicated testing site, and get ready for flight trials by late 2026. DheyaTech claims it's the first Indian private firm aiming for independent airworthiness certification of these engines, which have historically been imported.

Why it mattersIndia has long depended on foreign-made gas turbine engines for aerospace—all the way down to the smallest models. DheyaTech’s move could make domestic aerospace manufacturing less reliant on imports.
