Practo names Jagnoor Singh CEO, reshuffles leadership
Practo has promoted Jagnoor Singh, its former COO, to CEO. Shashank ND, cofounder and previous chief executive, is now executive chairman and managing director. The company also moved cofounder Siddhartha Nihalani to oversee consumer operations, Rowel Coelho to run its business services arm, and named cofounder Abhinav Lal chief scientist. The changes are part of Practo’s plans to expand abroad and pursue an IPO, reportedly aiming for a 2027 listing.

Uber invests $10 million more in Carrum Mobility
Uber has put another $10 million into Carrum Mobility, an Indian fleet management startup. This brings its total investment for the year to $17 million. DheyaTech raises $5.1M to develop Indian gas turbine engines
Aerospace startup DheyaTech just secured ₹43 crore ($5.1M) from Avaana Capital and others to expand its homegrown gas turbine engine production. It'll use the money to ramp up manufacturing, set up a dedicated testing site, and get ready for flight trials by late 2026. DheyaTech claims it's the first Indian private firm aiming for independent airworthiness certification of these engines, which have historically been imported.
Y Combinator led August startup investments, Nvidia increased pace
Y Combinator invested in at least 18 U.S. startup funding rounds of $5 million or more in August, making it the most active backer by deal count. Nvidia sharply ramped up its startup investments, taking part in nine such deals—its busiest month on record—with $1.3 billion in led or co-led financings. Global venture funding hit $42 billion for the month, more than doubling year-on-year.
