Intel and Broadcom warn cost is AI's main bottleneck
The CEOs of Intel and Broadcom say access to capital could soon be the biggest hurdle for the AI industry, overtaking even chip and memory shortages. Both pointed to the rising cost of financing massive data centers and advanced hardware, warning that tighter credit and higher borrowing costs could stall new projects—even as demand for AI computing keeps surging. They expect these hardware shortages to last another two to three years.
- Access to capital now seen as AI's biggest hurdle
- Borrowing costs risk slowing data-center expansion
- Hardware shortage expected for 2-3 more years
- Leaders still bullish on near-term AI demand
