Intel confirms continued partnership with Musk's Terafab

Intel will remain involved with Elon Musk's Terafab chip manufacturing venture, even as Musk discusses a possible sublease for TSMC to gain some production capacity at the planned Texas fab. Musk and Intel both stated that Terafab will keep full ownership and control, with TSMC as a possible tenant rather than a partner. Terafab will use Intel's upcoming 14A process to make chips, aiming for a facility that handles all manufacturing steps in one site.

Why it mattersThis means Musk's ambitious chip factory will draw on Intel's next-gen tech but won't be handed off to outsiders. If successful, consolidating all major chipmaking steps in one facility would be a rare move, potentially giving Musk tighter control over his AI and data center supply.
