MaxLinear unveils Puma 9 chip for DOCSIS 4.0 and AI-ready gateways

MaxLinear just rolled out its Puma 9 chip, designed to help broadband providers support superfast DOCSIS 4.0 and 3.1+ internet, next-gen Wi-Fi 8, and edge AI applications—all in one device. It's compatible with DDR5 memory and includes security features to handle future quantum threats. Operators can keep their hardware longer, adding new features through software instead of swapping out physical boxes.
