Ransomware attack disrupts Japanese cloud provider IDC Frontier
IDC Frontier, a Japanese cloud service provider owned by SoftBank, reported that a ransomware attack on October 7 forced an outage at its major data center cluster in eastern Japan. The attack affected 495 business and government customers. IDC Frontier shut down affected systems to limit damage, locked customers out of management consoles, and is investigating the breach and the scope of compromised data.
