Databricks adds zero-copy connector for Workday data
Databricks has launched a public beta for its connector letting customers access Workday HR and finance data straight from the Databricks platform—no need to copy or duplicate files. With this integration, you can query Workday Data Cloud alongside your other datasets in Databricks using standard SQL or natural language tools, while Unity Catalog handles permissions and tracking. Data stays in Workday, so HR and finance teams can analyze it live and securely.
- Workday Data Connect federation in Databricks is now in public beta
- Access HR and finance data live, without copying or pipelines
- Integration relies on Databricks' Unity Catalog for governance
- Supports standard SQL and natural-language queries
- Workday remains the system of record; data is read-only
