Apple home security camera will use AI, no video recording
Apple’s own home security camera is still in the works and expected next year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Unlike typical smart cameras, Apple’s version won’t store or transmit video. Instead, it’ll use AI to analyze what’s happening in your home and figure out which room someone’s in—aimed squarely at privacy-focused buyers. This is a separate project from video cameras Apple has developed with LG.
- Camera expected in 2027 per Bloomberg
- Apple’s device won’t record video at all
- AI analyzes home environment, detects presence
- Project is separate from LG partnership
- Aims for strong privacy compared to other options
