Apple plans smart home camera with no video recording
Apple is reportedly working on a smart home security camera that never stores or streams video footage. Instead, it uses on-device AI to process footage and give you only text-based descriptions of detected events, like when someone enters a room. The device analyzes its surroundings with image sensors but doesn't capture or save images. Apple may launch this with a new smart home hub as early as next month.
- Camera offers text descriptions, not footage
- No video recording or storage, by design
- Uses on-device AI for analysis
- Facial recognition included for entry detection
- Launch rumored alongside new home hub
