Aptadir Therapeutics, a biotechnology startup from Milan, just raised $45 million in seed funding—one of Italy's largest for a health startup. Backed by 4BIO Capital and several other investors, Aptadir is working on therapies that use RNA inhibitors to shut down faulty genes behind rare genetic diseases and certain cancers. The company's first target: Fragile X Syndrome, a leading cause of inherited intellectual disability.
