European defencetech startups pull in record $7.4B in 2026
Venture funding for European defence technology startups has hit $7.4 billion so far in 2026, nearly tripling last year's total. Seven companies, including Helsing and Quantum Systems, landed billion-dollar rounds that made up more than 85% of the investment. Munich leads as a hub, with German startups drawing $3.5 billion. U.S. investor share jumped to 47%, up from 12% in 2020.
