Cloudflare acquires Deno, will merge serverless runtimes
Cloudflare is acquiring Deno, the startup founded by Node.js creator Ryan Dahl. Deno developed its own open-source serverless computing platform closely modeled on Cloudflare Workers, putting the two companies in direct competition. With the acquisition, Deno's team will join Cloudflare. Deno's cloud hosting service will shut down, and its engineers will help merge Deno's open-source projects with Cloudflare's Workerd serverless runtime.
