India funds IIT Madras silicon photonics program for AI and quantum
India’s Ministry of Electronics and IT is putting $10.3 million into a five-year silicon photonics initiative at IIT Madras, in partnership with izmo Microsystems. The program aims to develop mass-manufacturable chip technology used in data center connectivity, AI systems, and quantum communications.
