Cloudflare Basin launches as serverless data platform
Cloudflare has launched Basin, a serverless data analytics platform now generally available after a period in open beta. Basin lets developers collect data from apps, infrastructure, or Cloudflare’s own services, then analyze it using SQL, all built on top of Apache Iceberg and R2 Object Storage. It replaces earlier Cloudflare data products with a unified suite for real-time and historical analytics, focused on speed, open standards, and cost savings.
- Basin unifies ingestion, cataloging, and SQL querying
- Built on open Apache Iceberg and Cloudflare R2 storage
- Aims to speed up analytics workflows for developers
- Reduces costs by avoiding cloud data transfer fees
