Google Cloud adds default end-to-end checksums in storage SDKs
Google Cloud has updated its Cloud Storage SDKs to automatically enable end-to-end checksumming for data uploads and downloads. Previously, developers had to manually provide checksums to ensure integrity, leaving some in-transit data at risk of undetected corruption. With the new update, the SDKs generate and verify checksums by default, minimizing data integrity gaps across the storage process.
- End-to-end checksums now default in Cloud Storage SDKs
- Checksums help detect in-transit data corruption
- SDKs verify object integrity during downloads
- Update aims to close data integrity gaps
