Cloudflare revamps Containers for faster, on-demand agent sandboxes
Cloudflare just rolled out a major update to its Containers platform, built for AI agents and other workloads that need fast, custom-built environments spun up on demand. Now, each agent can choose its container settings at runtime and start up in under a second—about six times faster than before. The system also introduces instant filesystem snapshots and lets application code directly manage sandbox lifecycles.
- Containers now launch in under 700 milliseconds
- Each container can select image and resources at runtime
- Filesystem snapshots available in public beta
- App code can directly control sandbox lifecycle
