Microsoft elevates Rust to Tier-1 programming language
Microsoft has made Rust a Tier-1 programming language alongside C# and TypeScript for its platforms. That means Rust now gets the full suite of official tools, deep integration with Windows and Azure, and backing for enterprise use. Microsoft is also adding support for Rust's compiler in its Visual Studio toolchain and working on tight interoperability with Visual C++. The move signals Rust’s central role in Microsoft's security and developer strategy.
