AMD, Samsung in talks over AI chip memory supply
AMD CEO Lisa Su visited Samsung in Seoul to secure more high-bandwidth memory (HBM) needed for AMD’s AI accelerators, according to industry media. Samsung, in turn, is pressing for AMD to use Samsung’s chip factories as part of a broader partnership. While AMD urgently needs memory amid ongoing shortages, industry sources say the company is wary of depending on Samsung foundries. Neither firm has announced a deal.
