Animikii launches data sovereignty pilot with First Nation
BC-based Animikii has started a pilot with Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation to help the community manage and secure data about its history. Animikii's Niiwin platform gives Indigenous organizations options for secure local hosting, flexible control over their data, and no-code mapping of community knowledge. This effort falls under the #DataBack movement, which pushes for Indigenous data to stay under Indigenous control.
