AWS lets Redshift share Iceberg materialized views across engines
AWS now lets Amazon Redshift use and share Iceberg materialized views—precomputed query results—across other data engines like Spark and Athena. That means less duplicated work, fewer brittle pipelines, and the same stats available everywhere. Enterprises with multiple analytics platforms won’t need to run the same calculations repeatedly or keep passing copies of data between systems. The real win: slashing compute costs in complex analytics setups.
- Redshift supports Iceberg materialized views natively
- Precomputed results now sharable across Spark, Athena, Redshift
- Cuts down need for ETL pipelines and data copies
- Improves consistency across business metrics and agentic applications
