Windows 11 users report high memory use by third-party apps
Users have highlighted that third-party Windows 11 applications, such as Razer’s peripheral software, can consume as much as 2GB of RAM, creating problems for PCs with limited memory. One user was forced to manually disable 25 Razer services to restore enough memory for other lighting tools, which subsequently failed to run stably. The report notes that Microsoft’s own weather app can also use high memory, raising concerns about broader software optimization.
- Razer software reportedly used 2GB of RAM on Windows 11
- Disabling 25 services was needed to reclaim memory
- OpenRGB failed to run stably after disabling Razer apps
- Microsoft's weather app also cited for high RAM use
- Users with 8GB RAM face constraints due to app demands
